Photographs of your family…

Do you photograph your everyday? Do you get in the pictures with your children, partner and friends? Or do you take photos of the milestones (birthdays, first day of school) and quick snap here and there when you remember? When you look back in years to come will you remember their favourite teddy or the way they wore their hair that summer? Or the hours spent kicking a football in the garden or practising handstands? It all makes up your life and the wonderful gift of family.

When you have photographs taken of your family, you are making an investment in recording a little piece of your family story. I believe there is real joy in seeing your family just as you are in photos that ‘look like you’. Your family life is truly yours and we can document it in your home or a place that you love in an honest and informal way. The connections between you and the environment you are in will help you remember a little bit of what life is like now. We all know it moves way too quickly.

How do I book a family photoshoot?

When you get in touch we will have a chat about what you are hoping for in a family session and where you might like to have it. Choosing a familiar location where everyone can be themselves is one of the secrets of a successful family session. So if you have very young children this is probably going to be at home whereas if your children are little older you may choose to go somewhere that you love spending time together.

Once you have chosen a location and we have decided on a date you will secure your booking with the session fee.

What happens during the photoshoot?

Around a week before the session I will send you more information about what to expect on the shoot and a few questions so I can find out a little more about your family. On the day of the session when we meet we will spend a little time chatting before we start taking the photographs. I like to work in an informal way and from experience, I know that children are far more relaxed once they know a bit about me too.

I like to allow plenty of time for a photo session but we won’t be photographing all the time. There is time for a break and I will be really flexible to suit the children and what works for them. During the session you may choose to do an activity that you normally do that the children love such as baking or playing their favourite games. Alternatively we can just spend time hanging out and playing in the garden if that suits your children better. It is totally up to you. If you would like a little more direction we can talk it through before the session.

Conscious that our four boys are growing up fast, we asked Vicki to take some photos which would capture our family at this moment. Teenage boys are not always easy to photograph and ours were a little apprehensive on the day, but Vicki was brilliant and put them at ease right away.

Vicki was easy to get along with, she made the shoot really relaxed and what I loved the most was her engagement with the kids. She asked them such lovely questions and spoke to them in such a wonderful way that they responded so well to her when she was taking photos.

What happens after the photoshoot?

Two weeks after your family photo session, I will email you a link to a private online gallery. Depending which package you’ve chosen, your gallery will contain at least 50 digital images for you to view and share online.

I really believe that photographs come to life when they are printed, so each collection includes prints for your walls. These professional prints with a giclee fine art finish make a perfect addition to your family photo collection. You might like to create a gallery wall using your prints.

Click here to view the collections.

Session fees start from £75
